BASIC INTERNET COURSE - FAQ

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

"All the text does not show on the screen."
Use the mouse with the scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen. If the text continues beyond what is viewed on the screen, click on either the up arrow key (to scroll back) or the down arrow key (to scroll forward).

"How do I know if the text or picture will link me to another item?"
If when moving the mouse to an underlined word or phrase, or a picture, the cursor changes from its normal symbol to a finger, then you have found a hyberlink. All this fancy word means is that if you then click your mouse at that point, you will be taken to a different web page.

"Will there be any class handouts?"
All class material will be provided in a format which can be printed from your browser. When the material or lesson you wish to printout is on the screen, move the mouse to either the symbol of a printer, or in the case of the Netscape browser, to the pull down menu named "File." Click on the word "File" and then on the word "Print." This should print out the current document.

"How do I go from one lesson to another?"
At the bottom of each page, you will see links. The links on the bottom of the lessons will take you back to the School's home page, the Home page of the particular course, or to the copyright notice located at the courthouse. If you click on the copyright link, you will need to use the previous web page button in your browser to get back to the lessons or you will need to click on the University links and come back in through the front door.
